LE40A616A review, Unregistered user Friday 05th of December 2008 05:47:36 PM: Awesome TV with great features for the price. Picture looks great. Can confirm that its has 100hz and is like the LE40A656 but without the same bezel, only 3 HDMI, and lower contrast ratio. Probably due to being a Super Clear Panel as opposed to an Ultra Clear Panel that the 656 has which is more likely a different coating then panel.
Avoid 37 inch Samsungs as they do not use Samsung Panels (Samsung doesnt make 37inch panels and so its likely to be AUO or other inferior panels). This is why you dont see 37 inch Sonys as they tend to use Samsung panels and other good quality panels as part of there collaboration.
Overall go for a 40inch Samsung if you want good features and quality components. Therefore this is a great choice.

Checked Samsung website and was told to download a file to USB and upgrade TV myself. When I spend that much money I expect to buy a TV that doesn\'t need upgrading the moment in arrives home! Shame as I love the look of it and all the other TV\'s in our house are Samsung.
jon, Unregistered user Friday 13th of June 2008 03:44:39 PM: If you want a full HD TV this is the one!! HD pictures are fantastic especially watching the football and wildlife programmes. The motion plus helps here as well to keep the picture pure. The colours are just so vibrant its amazing and everyone who sees the picture is amazed by the clarity. The upscalling on SD pictures is great as well, it does a great job on Flash Gordon on the SCi Fi channel for example bringing it pretty close to what you would expect from a full HD transmision. I have seen some reviews on this TV by \'experts\' who have knocked the sound quality, I am absolutely baffled by this because its great with excellent clarity and the ability to set the sound to your liking. Obviously if you want surround sound , like with all TVs, you simply buy a home cinema system although I didnt feel the need to in the end.The rose black colour just rounds off a perfect TV and my advice is if you want a 40 inch LCD TV this is the one to go for!!!
